OUR MISSION STATEMENT
BBFSC encourages the instruction, practice, and advancement of the members in compulsory figures, free skating, pair
skating, dancing, and all types of figure skating; encourages and cultivates a spirit of fraternal feeling among ice skaters;
sponsors, produces, or cooperates in the productions of amateur ice carnivals and shows; and generally performs such
other acts as may be necessary, advisable, proper or incidental in the realization of the objects and purposes of this
organization; and carries out the general policies of the United States Figure Skating Association.

WHO CAN JOIN BORDER BLADES?
Anyone who has an interest in advancing their skills in the area of ice skating and wants more individualized instruction
can become a member of the club.
The club arranges for practice ice times through the Grand Forks Park District and connects students with experienced
skating coaches. The club is also the vehicle through which competitions and testing are conveyed.

All BBFSC members must also be members of the United States Figure Skating Association.  Contact our

BBFSC SYNCHRONIZED SKATING
Synchronized skating involves skaters that practice and perform together while synchronizing their movements. A line
usually consists of 12 to 20 skaters, who are grouped according to age and ability. Tryouts are normally held in the
summer or early fall of each year. For more information contact our

Locker Room
There are still some lockers in our locker room available to those of you who wish to rent one for the
season. Lockers will be assigned on a first come first serve basis. If you have already sent your payment
for a locker, you should be receiving confirmation and your assigned locker number via email.
Lockers should be available for use starting on August 31, 2010.
New Private Coach
The Border Blades Figure Skating Club would like to welcome Kim Idland on as a new private coach.
The board made the decision to hire Kim at the June meeting. You can view Kim's bio and contact
information by clicking the coaches button located on the left side of your screen.
BBFSC Annual Registration Meeting
Border Blades annual registration meeting is set for Sunday, October 3, 2010.  The meeting will be at
Red River High School in the Rider Room, from 6-8pm.  Please use entrance number 1.

We are now accepting online registrations for the 2010-11 skating season. Please

2010-11 Season Ice
Our season ice will begin on August 30th and run thru March 6th.  Ice fees for the upcoming season will
be $200.00 per club member. 1/2 of your ice fees are due before you will be permitted to skate. Checks
should be payable to BBFSC and mailed to PO Box 14105, Grand Forks, ND 58208.
If you wish to use your account credits to pay for your season ice, please email me at
amyosowski@borderblades.org This needs to be taken care of before you skate.
2010 Annual French Fry Feed Fund Raiser
This year’s French Fry Feed fund raiser is scheduled for Thursday evening, September 16th.  Positions
will be available to work at two stations:  Cotton candy and the food/soda booth. Please click
