Border Blades Figure Skating Club occasionally has some open positions. If you are interested in any of the positions, please follow the application instructions for each position. 

Assistant Synchro Coach

Border Blades Figure Skating Club is looking for a Assistant Synchronized Skating Coach for our youngest 2 lines for the 2017/2018 season. Practice is usually on Sunday and Tuesday evenings.


o   Be a member of USFS as a fully licensed coach

o   Be insured as required by USFS

o   Be at least 18 years of age

o   Be in good standing with their current primary club

o   At least a Juvenile Moves/Free Skate/Pre-Bronze dance test level

Preference will be given to a coach Synchronized Skating experience.

BB Skating Academy Junior Coach or Volunteer

We are currently collecting information from anyone who is interested in filling a volunteer or junior coach position during the 2017 Summer Session.

A Junior Coach is someone who will be responsible for coaching groups of skaters during a session. This is a paid position. The person must be 16 years of age or older and have reliable transportation to the rink. Junior Coaches are also responsible for registering as a coach with Learn to Skate and completing any required CER certifications. This should be complete prior to applying. These costs are not reimbursed by the club.

A Volunteer is someone who will be paired with a coach and will assist where needed during a session. This is an unpaid position. This person is recommended to be over the age of 10.

The number of junior coaches/volunteers needed for any session may vary based upon the number of registrations and the type of session being coached.

Persons will be chosen to fill spots may be based on but not limited to some of the following criteria:

Past Volunteer Experience with Border Blades FSC

Time Off/Vacation during the Summer Session is expected to be kept to a minimum. All time off must be communicated to the Summer Programs Coordinator at least 1 week in advance and a suitable replacement found.  

Positions will be filled by interested persons at the sole discretion of the Summer Programs Coordinator.

All persons filling either position will be required to attend a one-time training session to learn the expectations of their position.
