Hockey Game Exhibitions
2012 Park District Ice Show
Each year the BBFSC is invited to participate in the Grand Forks Park Board's Ice Show.
The club is given a generous amount of spots in
the show. They are for group numbers, solos and synchronized skating teams.

We have been given the opportunity for our individual skaters and our synchronized
skating teams to skate between the first and second period of the Red River and Central  
hockey games this season. Click

Public Skating Fund Raiser
Border Blades has been given the opportunity to collect entrance fees for public skating.

Test Session February 17-19, 2012
Border Blades FSC is happy to announce an upcoming test session February 17-19th,
2012.  The test session will be held at the Purpur and Eagles Arenas.

Ashley Sersland is a senior at Red River High School. She
will be graduating with a 4.0 GPA and is apart of the National
Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society and DECA.
Ashley is the daughter of Shannon and Tricia Sersland and
has a sister named Faith. Ashley has been skating since she
could walk and has been competing competitively since the
age of 9. Ashley has passed her Senior MIF, All of the Gold
Dances and her Novice Freeskate. She is competing this year
at a Junior Level and is working toward her Junior Freeskate
test. She skated syncro for a few years as a young skater and
had the opportunity to go to travel with the team to Chicago
for Midwesterns. She has been coached individually by many
of the Border Blades Coaches to include, Mandy Erickson,
Pene DeMaster and Jen Knudson. Her current coaches are
Jarmilla Solc and Melissa Olson. Outside of skating Ashley's
other interests include Volleyball and Dance. Ashley has
coached basic skills in the past for BBFSC and has been a
Dance Teacher for Dance Etc. Dance Studio. Ashley has
been employed by the GF park district for the past 3 years and
works in the summer as a lifeguard at Elks/Riverside pool. She
also works for Aspen Studio throughout the year. Ashley is
perusing a career with Disney on Ice. She isn't sure what the
future will bring but is excited for the next chapter and looking
forward to the new challenges it has to bring.
A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to the Sapphire Blades Pre-Juvenile Synchronized Skating
Team on their 3rd place finish at the Red River Valley Classic held in Moorhead, MN on
February 12, 2012. Team members include Sydnee Boucher, Alyson Brandon, Brianna
Filson, Abby Hendrickson, Kayla Horner, Emma Kuhlman, Maizey Rike-Norman, Brianna
Seeba, Hannah Snobeck, Rylee Stauss, and Ella Zhang. The Sapphire Blades are
coached by Kimberly Idland and Tina Greenwaldt
"Katie has been skating for 14 years and is now a senior at
Central High School. Katie skated on a synchro team for 10
years. She also loves curling and golf and recently returned
from her second Junior Women's Curling Nationals. She
loves being active and enjoys school. Katie plans to attend
NDSU in the fall to pursue a degree in Architecture."
