The BBFSC Scholarship Fund is set up to help support skaters with financial hardship. Scholarship applications are to fund up to 1/2 of selected fees. The application period will be reviewed three times per year:
Fall/Winter Ice:
- All scholarship applications are due on or before September 15.
- All scholarship recipients must participate in all club fundraisers.
- Members not in good standing with the club will have their scholarships rescinded and all fees will be due in full.
Spring Ice:
- All scholarship applications are due on or before March 1.
- All scholarship recipients must participate in all club fundraisers.
- Members not in good standing with the club will have their scholarships rescinded and all fees will be due in full.
Summer Ice:
- All scholarship applications are due on or before May 1.
- All scholarship recipients must participate in all club fundraisers.
- Members not in good standing with the club will have their scholarships rescinded and all fees will be due in full.
Synchronized Skating:
- All scholarship applications are due on or before May 1.
- All scholarship recipients must participate in all club fundraisers.
- All scholarship recipients must participate in all synchronized skating fundraisers as well as complete all required volunteer hours. See current Volunteer Requirements.
- Members not in good standing with the club or who do not complete the synchro season will have their scholarship rescinded and all synchro fees will be due in full.
Funding is limited and scholarships are not guaranteed to all applicants. Scholarships will be awarded based on need and merit. Scholarships may not be awarded for two sessions in a row.
The scholarship committee will review all applications and will recommend applications to the board. Scholarships will be awarded within 30 days of the application deadline. In order to be considered for a scholarship, skaters must be in good standing with Border Blades Figure Skating Club.
